Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is a central member of the patient care delivery team. An undergraduate degree is the starting point to establish a candidate in this professional career. Registered Nurses (RN) care for patients and promote their physical, mental and social well being. They contribute to the health care system in direct patient practice, education, administration, research and policy in a wide array of settings.

approximate salary: $53,001 – $64,584

high school preparation: Applicants must have successfully completed Grade 12 in a university preparatory program with an overall average of 70% in the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and one other academic subject, and no individual grade lower than 65% in each of these courses.

academic requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Nursing (BN), with a passing score on the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination.
